Our Rwanda operation, the largest since 2007 and locally branded as Tubura, employs more than 3,000 staff across all four provinces including Kigali. In 2024, it supported over 2.8 million farmers and collaborates with government initiatives focused on national food security. Additionally, we assist promising agricultural SMEs and provide market access for key crops like coffee, avocado, and chili.

Role Overview

The Global Procurement Senior Associate ensures the procurement teams across at least three countries possess the skills, tools, and professionalism to consistently source high-quality materials and services promptly and fully, at optimal price points, while eliminating risks related to fraud and loss. This role also owns and manages critical procurement processes beyond direct team oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver cost-effective and superior goods and services through strategic sourcing and innovative procurement methodologies.
• Maintain excellent operational performance for country procurement teams, ensuring on-time supplier delivery, supplier performance excellence, and efficient payment processes.
• Drive initiatives that enhance negotiation skills and promote value-focused sourcing across markets.
• Manage and mentor country procurement leaders to uphold strong execution, adherence to compliance, and customer-oriented service.
• Develop team capabilities with focused training, coaching, and professional growth programs.
• Support recruitment processes, succession planning, and continuity within procurement teams.
• Champion a culture committed to compliance, rigorous internal controls, and ethical procurement standards.
• Mitigate supply and contractual risks through active supplier management and vigilant monitoring.
• Identify operational risks and propose opportunities for procurement process improvement.
• Contribute to procurement strategy development and spearhead execution of department goals and key results.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across markets, utilizing regional leverage to optimize costs and ensure supply security.
• Implement process enhancements aimed at increasing efficiency, transparency, and value for money.
• Oversee procurement performance reporting, demand forecasting, and inventory coordination among supported countries.
• Cultivate strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure procurement aligns with organizational goals.
• Ensure insights from procurement inform operational planning and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, or related fields.
• Strong fundamentals in supply chain management, procurement, or operations.
• Proven experience managing and coaching teams, including remote or dispersed groups.
• Effective project management and organizational skills for handling multiple priorities swiftly.
• Excellent relationship-building abilities with skill to influence diverse stakeholder groups.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving, anticipating risks, and seeking process improvements.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Master’s degree is advantageous.
