We are partnering with a longstanding client in the energy sector to hire two GitLab Duo Specialists responsible for leading the automated workflow and code generation pipeline. This project is nearshore only.

Project Objective

The initiative aims to develop a scalable, automated AI agent chain that connects planning phases with technical rollouts, consisting of the following components:

• Atlassian Rovo for initial requirement gathering and user story structuring
• GitLab Duo to handle validated stories by producing technical specifications, generating code scaffolds and unit tests, and submitting Merge Requests (MRs) for human assessment
• Other deliverables including a working end-to-end prototype, standardized handover between Jira and GitLab, and a scaling framework

AI Agent Chain Details

• Intake Agent: Automatically retrieves Jira stories and extracts context from repositories and documentation
• Specification Agent: Derives technical specifications like affected components, API interfaces, data models, and test cases, submitting them for approval
• Implementation Agent: Creates branches, generates code scaffolding and initial unit tests, runs CI/CD pipelines, and opens MRs with summaries of changes
• Jira Feedback Loop: Updates Jira stories in real time with status information
• Governance & Security: Enforces service accounts, scoped tokens, protected branches, mandatory reviews, and audit logs

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution and development of automated code generation and pipeline processes using GitLab Duo
• Ensure governance and security practices are rigorously followed, including credential handling and code verification for AI-generated content
• Transfer knowledge by delivering detailed documentation, demonstration scenarios, and scalable models

Required Expertise

• Advanced knowledge of GitLab capabilities including CI/CD, runners, APIs, webhooks, and permissions management
• Hands-on experience with GitLab Duo features such as Chat, Code Suggestions, and Agentic/Duo workflows
• Proficiency with AI engine integrations, prompt engineering, context management, tool calling, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Strong secure coding skills in Python, TypeScript, Java or comparable languages
• Heightened awareness and strict management of security, credentials, and validation mechanisms for AI-written code
