Role Overview

We seek an experienced GIS Solution Architect to lead the design and deployment of a scalable enterprise GIS platform. The architect will handle creation of interactive mapping solutions, GIS data integration, and establishing a robust spatial data architecture. The role demands integration of GIS capabilities with enterprise applications, supporting both current and future spatial analytics and location intelligence needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive GIS architecture for interactive maps and future spatial analytics.
• Develop GIS applications using platforms such as ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Experience Builder, and evaluate alternatives like Azure Maps and Mapbox.
• Analyze existing ArcGIS and enterprise ecosystems to identify reusable geospatial assets.
• Define strategies for data discovery, ETL, integration, and migration from enterprise datasets into the GIS platform.
• Design GIS data integration architecture using FME or similar ETL tools.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and data teams to define integration patterns between GIS, applications, APIs, and data platforms.
• Develop geospatial data models, feature layers, spatial relationships, and structures essential for GIS applications and analytics.
• Work closely with analytics teams to translate requirements into actionable GIS data models and spatial analytical solutions.
• Architect future-ready spatial analytics, GIS-based decision support, and location intelligence capabilities.
• Evaluate Microsoft Fabric, Data Lake, and Lakehouse suitability as platforms for GIS and analytical workloads.
• Define data pipelines connecting Microsoft Fabric, GIS, enterprise applications, and analytics.
• Ensure GIS architectures uphold scalability, security, performance, API integrations, and adaptability for growth.
• Provide technical leadership to GIS developers, data engineers, and analytics teams.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Minimum 5 years in GIS solution architecture or GIS application design.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro.
• Expertise in building interactive web GIS and mapping applications.
• Deep knowledge of GIS architecture, spatial data structures, and GIS components.
• Experience with FME or similar GIS ETL/integration tools.
• Skill in integrating GIS with enterprise applications, APIs, and database systems.
• Strong GIS data modeling and spatial database understanding.
• Capability to define spatial analytics and GIS analytical solutions.
• Ability to assess and integrate geospatial platforms including ArcGIS, Azure Maps, and Mapbox.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Lakehouse platforms.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Platform.
• Knowledge of PostGIS, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle Spatial databases.
• Understanding of ArcGIS REST APIs, feature and map services.
• Python programming for geospatial data processing.
• Experience with Power BI and Fabric analytics.
• Exposure to cloud-native GIS architectures and enterprise-scale data integration.

Additional Information

The role is located in Bangalore, with possible openings in Mumbai and Chennai. The expected total experience is between 12 to 16 years. Candidates should have graduate-level education to apply.
