Job Summary

The GIS Developer role requires extensive expertise in enterprise GIS development using ArcGIS Enterprise and related technologies, with experience in government, infrastructure, utilities, industrial cities, or smart-city sectors. The position involves designing, developing, integrating, and optimizing enterprise GIS solutions, playing a technical leadership role, and supporting effective GIS delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve enterprise GIS web applications, portals, dashboards, and executive tools.
• Build GIS solutions leveraging ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS Experience Builder, and ArcGIS Dashboards.
• Create GIS automation scripts and geoprocessing workflows using Python and ArcPy.
• Integrate GIS platforms with enterprise systems through REST APIs, web services, and databases.
• Design architectures for GIS solutions, applications, integrations, and data flows.
• Support and manage integration between ArcGIS Enterprise and platforms like Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM.
• Configure, publish, secure, and optimize geospatial services within ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal environments.
• Administer GIS users, roles, permissions, services, and system settings.
• Ensure GIS environment performance, availability, security, backup, and disaster recovery compliance.
• Analyze business and technical needs to formulate scalable GIS solutions and prepare technical documentation.
• Conduct technical proofs of concept and make recommendations.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, applications, data, cybersecurity, and other teams.
• Coordinate and manage GIS vendors and teams during implementations.
• Work directly with client stakeholders to understand requirements and provide appropriate GIS solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex GIS applications, integrations, services, and infrastructure challenges.
• Offer technical guidance and support to GIS development teams and projects.
• Ensure successful GIS solution delivery with emphasis on quality, performance, and security.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, GIS, Geomatics, Engineering, or related field; advanced GIS or postgraduate training is advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in GIS development within enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in enterprise GIS web development and ArcGIS solutions.
• Experience with projects in government, utilities, infrastructure, industrial cities, or smart-city settings.
• Capabilities in designing and implementing GIS applications, integrations, and services.
• Proven ability to work with clients and multidisciplinary technical teams; vendor coordination experience preferred.
• Strong familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal, Server, and Enterprise Geodatabases.
• Proficient in ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and ArcGIS REST API usage.
• Advanced scripting and geoprocessing skills with Python and ArcPy.
• Solid SQL knowledge with experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL databases.
• Expertise in ArcGIS Experience Builder and ArcGIS Dashboards development.
• Hands-on experience integrating GIS with enterprise apps using REST APIs and web services.
• Understanding of GIS solution architecture, data flow, and application integration design.
• Experience publishing, securing, troubleshooting, and optimizing GIS services.
• Knowledge of enterprise authentication and security protocols including SSO, Active Directory, and SSL certificates.
• Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, backup procedures, RPO/RTO, and business continuity concepts is preferred.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as ArcGIS Monitor is an asset.
• Professional certifications such as GISP, Esri/ArcGIS certifications, and relevant cloud or enterprise architecture credentials are desirable.
• Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, problem solving, consulting mindset, accountability, teamwork, organizational, and troubleshooting abilities.
