Role overview
We are seeking a GIS Applications Developer to design, build, and support geospatial web solutions, e-services, and mapping platforms. This role combines application development, GIS platform administration, data integration, and field-data mobile app work.
Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain GIS-based web applications and geospatial digital services.
- Develop engaging web maps and geo-portals for users.
- Build utilities for GIS data integration, migration, and system interoperability.
- Support, administer, and improve enterprise geospatial platforms.
- Design and develop mobile applications for GIS data collection in the field.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain GIS software and related infrastructure.
- Connect GIS platforms with enterprise systems using APIs and integration methods.
- Work with geodatabases and remote sensing datasets.
- Track application and platform performance and help ensure high availability.
- Prepare technical documentation and status/progress reports for projects.
- Follow quality standards throughout the development and delivery cycle.
Required skills and experience
- Hands-on experience with ESRI ArcGIS products and QGIS.
- Working knowledge of geodatabases and spatial data administration.
- Familiarity with remote sensing data and GIS data modeling concepts.
- Experience building web GIS applications and interactive mapping interfaces.
- Understanding of GIS integration approaches and API development.
- Experience administering GIS platforms and geo-portals.
- Programming ability in Python and Java.
- Exposure to mobile GIS apps and field data collection workflows.
- Strong grasp of GIS databases and spatial technologies.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro is valued. Additional advantage if you have worked with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, Leaflet, OpenLayers, or Mapbox GL; PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, or SQL Server Spatial; ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, or QField; ERDAS, ENVI, Google Earth Engine, NetCDF, GRIB, or GeoTIFF; GeoServer, MapServer, and OGC services such as WMS, WMTS, WFS, and WCS; FME, Docker, AWS/Azure, and CI/CD pipelines. Esri technical certifications are also considered a plus.

This is a full-time remote position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
