Your Role and Impact

As a Geoscience Consultant, you will assist customers in applying InSAR data within their geotechnical and operational workflows, ensuring their technical success. Collaborating closely with geotechnical engineers, geologists, and other specialists, you will interpret site activities, integrate InSAR with other information, and deliver actionable engineering insights. Mining-related tasks, including monitoring slopes, tailings facilities, subsidence, and infrastructure, will form a significant portion of your work. You will also contribute technically to commercial efforts, aiding the Sales team by translating engineering challenges effectively.

Main Responsibilities

• Directly collaborate with geoscience and engineering teams to embed InSAR into their monitoring and decision processes.
• Analyze deformation trends considering mining operations, geology, and geotechnical conditions.
• Integrate InSAR data with GIS, geological, monitoring, and other remote or on-site datasets.
• Configure and optimize SkyGeo data feeds for your projects.
• Create impactful technical visualizations such as maps, graphs, cross-sections, and animations.
• Assist Sales during complex technical discussions with customers.
• Partner with SkyGeo’s InSAR Engineers and Data Analytics groups to tailor data to application needs.
• Conduct site visits across the Asia-Pacific to collaborate with domain experts.
• Represent SkyGeo’s technical proficiency at industry events and conferences.
• Continuously learn and develop new applications related to SAR, InSAR, and monitoring technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Surveying, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience, preferably within mining.
• Comprehensive knowledge of geological and geotechnical difficulties in operational mining settings.
• Experience engaging directly with technical clientele, engineering, and domain experts.
• Proficiency in integrating and interpreting diverse datasets related to geology, geotechnical performance, and operations.
• Competency with GIS and geoscience-related software tools.
• Experience in remote sensing, surveying, or monitoring methodologies is advantageous; InSAR training will be provided.
• Strong skills in technical communication and data visualization.
• Capability to work independently and accurately on intricate technical challenges.
• Curious and pragmatic approach with a drive to explore novel applications and strategies.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel within the Asia-Pacific region as needed.
