Role Overview

This role is a full-time, on-site General Practitioner position located in Brisbane, Queensland. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services to a diverse group of patients. Key daily duties include conducting clinical consultations, collecting patient histories, performing examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating treatment and management plans. Additional responsibilities cover managing both acute and chronic medical conditions, delivering preventive health guidance, administering vaccinations, and organizing referrals to specialists and allied health professionals as necessary.

The General Practitioner will maintain precise clinical records through electronic practice management systems, engage in case discussions and clinical team meetings, and participate actively in practice quality improvement initiatives. Working closely with nurses, administrative staff, and fellow clinicians is essential to ensure delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with full unrestricted registration with the relevant Australian medical board and approval for MM1 practice area.
• Experience in general practice or primary care, including managing acute cases, chronic illnesses, and preventive care.
• Strong clinical evaluation, diagnostic acumen, and decision-making capability grounded in evidence-based medicine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective relationship-building with patients from varied backgrounds.
• Team-oriented approach, with ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and contribute positively to the practice environment.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records and practice management software, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Organizational skills and time management abilities to handle a busy clinical schedule securely and productively.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth through clinical audits and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
• Current professional indemnity insurance, CPR, and basic life support certifications; experience in women’s and men’s health, pediatrics, or geriatric care is favorable.
• Eligibility to work in Australia and familiarity with Medicare and local healthcare system requirements.
