General Manager

Overview

This job is with a restaurant independently owned and managed under license to use McDonald's branding and products; the franchisee is your employer, not McDonald's USA. Employment decisions, hiring, scheduling, and discipline are solely handled by the franchisee.

Job Purpose

The General Manager oversees profitability and ensures that the restaurant adheres to McDonald's high benchmarks for Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. Collaborating with leadership, the General Manager sets and drives the achievement of restaurant goals.

Leadership Responsibilities

Leading a team of Department Managers, the General Manager supports these leaders in setting departmental goals, monitors progress, and coaches them to enhance their operations, which in turn elevates overall restaurant performance. The role may also involve recruiting and developing Department and Shift Managers to build a strong leadership pipeline.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants have prior experience managing high-volume locations, preferably within quick-service restaurants or related fields like hospitality or retail. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to manage corporate-owned McDonald's restaurants.
