Job description
About the Role
This role supports a pioneering macro intelligence platform designed specifically for institutional investors, such as hedge funds and asset owners, granting a competitive advantage in macroeconomic decision-making through proprietary data, market regime signals, and daily insights from a leading macro economist. Currently serving 20+ institutional clients with $300K ARR, this fully operational business is transitioning into a standalone entity, seeking a General Manager (GM) to lead commercial growth and manage the P&L without a CEO above.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an independent sales distribution system within six months, generating pipeline and outbound deals beyond founder networks.
- Double the annual revenue by the end of 2026, managing all aspects from initial outreach to client onboarding and subscription renewals.
- Position the platform as the premier macro intelligence source through category definition, industry presence, including conferences, and securing at least one strategic alliance within 12 months.
- Grow the team by adding 2-3 essential members, influence the product roadmap based on market insights, and aim for a revenue milestone exceeding $2M ARR in 18 months.
Candidate Requirements
- Deep expertise in macroeconomics or institutional finance, with the ability to engage and earn trust from hedge fund portfolio managers or family office CIOs from the first meeting.
- Proven experience initiating new institutional accounts cold—outside of managing pre-existing client books—especially within data, research, or fintech sectors targeting hedge funds, asset managers, or family offices.
- Accountability for and achievement of ARR targets in a B2B subscription or data company, with successful deals ranging between $10K and $100K+ annual contract values.
- Independent brand ambassador experience speaking at industry events and managing key client or partnership relationships at senior levels.
- An entrepreneurial, solution-oriented mindset to swiftly build what the team requires and thrive in a fast-paced, lean organizational environment.
- Residency in London or New York is preferred, or willingness to relocate as necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
- Attractive base salary complemented by performance-driven bonuses with substantial upside based on commercial achievements.
- Equity stake in the new spin-out company, acknowledging the role as a founding executive member.
- Comprehensive support from the originating studio across product, technology, and senior leadership domains.
- Immediate access to the founder’s institutional network and platform, enhancing commercial efforts from day one.
Selection Process
- Initial introductory call.
- First interview assessing candidate qualifications and commercial expertise.
- Second interview focusing on operational aptitude and strategic thinking.
- Case study assessment coupled with psychometric evaluation.
- In-person meeting with the core team.
- Reference checks followed by final offer.
