Role Overview
The General Manager for Dyeing & Processing will be responsible for managing the entire knitted fabric dyeing and processing operations at the Perundurai plant. This role involves overseeing operational execution, maintaining quality standards, controlling costs, and ensuring sustainable practices are followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise high-volume knitted fabric dyeing and processing activities.
- Ensure end-to-end operational efficiency, uphold quality assurance, and manage cost controls within the fabric processing unit.
- Drive consistent Right-First-Time (RFT) shade accuracy, minimize chemical usage and water consumption, and comply with zero-discharge environmental policies and international buyer requirements.
- Approve production schedules and confirm readiness with the production team.
- Maintain strict adherence to quality parameters for fabric processing.
- Optimize processes by troubleshooting and mentoring the team for improved performance.
- Manage the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems to ensure full compliance with applicable pollution control regulations.
- Coordinate effectively with Merchandising, Central Sourcing, Quality Assurance, and Garmenting departments to facilitate smooth material flow.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational background of Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Textile Engineering or Textile Technology.
- Extensive industry experience ranging from 20 to 25 years in fabric dyeing and processing operations.
