Position Overview
This General Manager role is with a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee licensed to use McDonald's brand and products. The franchisee independently manages all employment matters and is the employer. McDonald's USA is not involved in hiring or employment decisions.
About the Role
The General Manager is tasked with ensuring the restaurant achieves profitability while upholding McDonald’s high standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. Collaborating with leadership, the GM sets goals and implements strategies to attain them.
The GM leads a team of Department Managers, guiding them to set departmental objectives, monitor progress, and deliver coaching to enhance performance. Hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure strong future leadership is also a key responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all operations including food production, guest service, and team oversight.
- Lead people management processes including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, staffing, performance management, training, coaching, and motivation.
- Make informed business decisions related to inventory, budgeting, and food cost control.
- Ensure food safety standards are rigorously met.
- Maintain high safety standards for guests and employees.
- Oversee restaurant maintenance and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience as a General Manager in quick service restaurants or related hospitality or retail sectors, preferably overseeing high-volume locations.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and excellence.
- Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Ability to make effective decisions and provide solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in food safety practices.
