Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and commercially minded General Manager to oversee and lead all facets of our business operations. Reporting directly to the Board, this pivotal executive leadership role is responsible for spearheading business growth, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining regulatory compliance, and advancing the capabilities of our workforce, product range, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership and strategic guidance for the overall AREX business.
• Formulate and implement strategies related to business growth, commercial success, and operational functions.
• Guarantee safe, compliant, and efficient functioning of all manufacturing and operational units.
• Maintain and foster robust partnerships with customers, regulatory bodies, suppliers, shareholders, and other industry stakeholders.
• Drive growth in revenue, profitability, and promote sustainable business outcomes.
• Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary leadership team, fostering development and motivation.
• Ensure adherence to explosives, environmental, health, safety, security, and transportation regulations.
• Identify and execute opportunities for operational enhancements, innovation, and market expansion.
• Oversee capital investments, projects, and business development activities.
• Cultivate a strong organizational culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a degree in Engineering, Mining, Chemistry, Business, or a related field.
• Have extensive senior leadership experience in explosives, mining, quarrying, chemicals, manufacturing, or comparable high-risk industrial environments.
• Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and financial management skills including managing Profit & Loss responsibilities.
• Proven track record of leading complex operational businesses and achieving growth objectives.
• Deep understanding of safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and risk control.
• Experienced in leading large teams and driving organizational effectiveness.
• Exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience working within the Middle East or international markets is a desirable advantage.
