General Labourer

About the Role

CMI Property Solutions Inc. is recruiting a dependable and experienced General Labourer / Handyman to support repair, upkeep, cleanup, and general improvement activities across various residential properties in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This is a hands-on, fieldwork position ideal for an individual comfortable with working autonomously, tackling diverse tasks efficiently, and providing solutions onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general repair and maintenance duties at residential properties throughout the GTA.
• Perform tasks including basic carpentry, drywall patching, painting, and flooring repair and installation.
• Address minor plumbing issues and fixture repairs when appropriate.
• Maintain exterior property areas through minor repairs, yard work, and seasonal upkeep.
• Support property clean-outs, debris removal, material moving, and other general labor tasks.
• Prepare and secure vacant properties and assist with ongoing maintenance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Transport materials, equipment, and supplies between sites.
• Assist contractors and tradespeople on location as needed.
• Ensure work areas remain tidy, safe, and organized.
• Document completed tasks and property conditions via photographs and updates.
• Travel across multiple residential sites within GTA as required.
• Respond promptly to urgent repair needs and perform other general maintenance duties.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years' practical experience in general labor, residential maintenance, handyman services, renovations, or construction.
• Hands-on knowledge of residential repair and upkeep methods.
• Proficiency with commonly used hand and power tools.
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks involving lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for long durations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and high reliability.
• Strong punctuality, dependability, and problem-solving aptitude with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for interactions with property managers, contractors, and residents.
• Possession of a valid Ontario G Class driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Willingness and ability to travel around the GTA to multiple residential locations.
• Basic competency using a smartphone for taking photos, updating job status, and communication.
