Role Overview

We are recruiting a General Labourer for our Ancaster, Ontario bakery who will support multiple production functions. Duties encompass packaging, sanitation, housekeeping, and quality control, rotating across different bakery roles to maintain seamless operations and uphold food quality and safety.

Work Schedule

• Rotating continental shift pattern alternating between day and night shifts.
• Availability on weekends is a requirement.

Compensation

• Starting wage of $22.64 per hour plus applicable shift premiums.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute general labour duties to maintain operational flow and cleanliness within the bakery.
• Assist with physical tasks such as lifting, stacking, and organizing production materials.
• Rotate through various roles along the production line according to business needs.
• Carry out visual inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to sustain continuous workflow and comply with production protocols.
• Perform routine sanitation and line cleaning to uphold hygienic and safe working conditions.
• Monitor product quality consistently throughout shifts.
• Adhere strictly to standardized operating procedures and organizational guidelines including GMPs and health and safety rules.
• Keep work areas safe and report hazards or incidents promptly to supervisors.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent is preferred.
• Proficiency in English communication, both written and spoken.
• Capability to work 12-hour shifts, including overtime as required.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift weights up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to adapt in dynamic environments.
• Ability to follow instructions independently and responsibly.
• Must pass a criminal background check or have a pardon.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or production settings is advantageous.
• Effective communication skills and enthusiasm for varied responsibilities.
• Ability to perform efficiently in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
