About the Role and Company
This position is for a General Accountant at Alfanar Projects, a Saudi enterprise with international reach. Alfanar is known for manufacturing and trading a wide spectrum of electrical products across various voltage levels, alongside renewable energy solutions, oil and gas, water treatment, technical services, and digital innovations. Their main manufacturing hub is a sizable and advanced complex in Riyadh, staffed with skilled professionals and equipped with cutting-edge facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable by supervising supplier invoice processing ensuring accuracy through three-way matching and verifying invoices for tax and policy adherence.
- Ensure timely payments to vendors and address their inquiries professionally.
- Monitor accruals and prepayments, verifying that expenses are recorded in the correct accounting periods.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledgers with vendor statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee customer invoicing, ensuring compliance with contracts and accuracy.
- Assess customers' creditworthiness, manage receivables to reduce bad debts, implement collection strategies, and handle overdue payment matters.
- Reconcile customer accounts regularly and analyze receivables aging reports.
- Handle fixed asset accounting including acquisition, depreciation, disposal, ensuring regulatory compliance and protection against inventory shrinkage.
- Periodically verify and track company assets.
- Maintain the general ledger accurately, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and handle discrepancies.
- Prepare financial statements conforming to IFRS standards and support external audits.
- Assist budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and identify potential risks.
- Continuously improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and compliance with local laws.

- Develop relevant soft and technical skills and have a clear career plan.
- Execute planned activities according to operational targets efficiently in terms of cost and time.
- Provide periodic reports highlighting any deviations from planned tasks and their executions.
- Identify and resolve problems, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Ensure quality control and develop effective processes with proper specifications for accounting activities.
- Coordinate documentation of systems, policies, procedures and seek opportunities for automation.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards to ensure legislative compliance and quality delivery within the work area.
Qualifications and Experience
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and possess between 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience. Strong knowledge of accounting methods, principles, and systems is required.
