Role Overview
This full-time, on-site role in Jaipur entails inspecting, sorting, and categorizing gemstones based on size, color, clarity, cut, and overall quality criteria set by the company. Responsibilities include aligning stones with specific designs and production needs, preparing assortments for artisans and setters, ensuring collection consistency, inspecting under magnification and proper lighting, keeping precise inventory and assortment records, and collaborating with design and production teams to meet quality and timeline objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine gemstones attentively, grading their color, clarity, cut, and size.
- Sort and match gems precisely to meet design and production standards.
- Prepare gemstone assortments for artisans and setters, ensuring consistency across collections.
- Inspect stones under magnification and appropriate lighting to identify defects or irregularities.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inventory, assortments, and production documentation.
- Work closely with design and production teams ensuring quality and timeline compliance.
- Recommend the best usage for gemstone batches and support ongoing quality control improvements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in gemstone evaluation including visual inspection and grading of color, clarity, and cut proportions.
- Experience in sorting and matching gemstones within fine jewelry manufacturing, focusing on uniformity and design requirements.
- Familiarity with precious and semi-precious stones, basic gemological knowledge, and awareness of both traditional and modern jewelry styles.
- Exceptional accuracy, keen attention to detail, and fine manual dexterity for managing small gemstones safely.
- Capability to maintain systematic assortments and inventory records.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with designers, master artisans, and production supervisors.
- Previous experience in jewelry manufacturing or gemstone trading industries preferred.
- Certifications or training in gemology or jewelry manufacturing is beneficial.
- Commitment to uphold brand values of quality, integrity, and craftsmanship.
