Role Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Gas Meter Reader Technician in Windsor, ON for a full-time position. The successful candidate will manage daily meter reading tasks, maintain equipment, and adhere to safety and company procedures to support our clients’ utility operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned daily meter reading tasks efficiently.
• Manage upload and download of route and work assignments according to utility schedules.
• Achieve meter reading Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) consistently.
• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a secure work environment.
• Maintain professionalism and sound judgment in all interactions.
• Follow GTel’s procedures and checklists for accurate and timely service maintenance.
• Report any field hazards or operational issues and suggest improvements to enhance service quality.
• Keep handheld devices updated and operated correctly to ensure data accuracy.
• Care for company and utility-issued equipment per guidelines.
• Provide weekly data updates essential for payroll and invoicing processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Physically capable of walking long distances (15-20 km) daily to fulfill job duties.
• Possession of a reliable vehicle, valid Ontario G driver’s license, and current vehicle insurance.
• Clean driver’s abstract and background check clearance.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
