Gardener

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated Gardener to join our team at Charles Upham Retirement Village in Rangiora, Canterbury. This full-time role involves working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (40 hours per week). You will help maintain the picturesque gardens and grounds, creating a serene and welcoming environment for residents, their families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to care for and maintain our beautiful resort-style gardens.
• Ensure the gardens and grounds are well-serviced and visually appealing while maintaining safety standards across the area.
• Manage a variety of horticultural areas, including a bowling green, water features, and both residential and communal spaces.
• Work closely with colleagues to support overall grounds maintenance efforts.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in gardening or landscaping roles is essential.
• Strong problem-solving abilities coupled with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, reliable, and friendly attitude.
• Horticultural qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
• Must have legal work rights in New Zealand due to immigration requirements.
