About the Role

Join our dedicated team as a Gardener at Bert Sutcliffe Retirement Village located in Birkenhead, Auckland. This full-time position involves working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You'll collaborate within a team focused on maintaining the beautiful, resort-style gardens for the enjoyment of residents, their families, and staff. This role includes diverse responsibilities such as caring for a bowling green, water features, and various residential and communal areas, ensuring the grounds remain attractive and safe.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and service gardens and grounds to uphold excellent appearance and safety standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support garden care initiatives and ensure shared responsibilities are met
  • Handle varied garden environments, including specialty areas like bowling greens and water features

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in gardening or landscaping roles demonstrating practical skills
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude paired with meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective communication abilities with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Horticultural qualifications are preferred but not mandatory
  • Applicants must have NZ work rights due to immigration regulations
