Job Overview
The Furniture Production Worker plays a vital role in the manufacturing and assembly processes of furniture within a workshop setting. This position involves tasks such as preparing materials, operating basic machinery, assembling various furniture pieces, conducting inspections, and maintaining safety and cleanliness throughout the production area.
Primary Duties
- Support the manufacture and assembly of furniture items following given specifications and production plans.
- Prepare and handle materials including wood, panels, hardware, and fittings necessary for production.
- Accurately measure and mark components based on drawings, templates, or instructions.
- Operate tools to cut, drill, sand, and ready furniture parts for assembly.
- Construct furniture frames, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and other related products.
- Install hardware such as hinges, handles, brackets, and screws carefully onto furnishings.
- Ensure proper alignment and attachment of furniture parts during assembly.
- Use woodworking and production machinery responsibly under supervision.
- Inspect components and finished products to identify defects or quality issues.
- Conduct basic adjustments or corrections when necessary to meet quality standards.
- Package finished furniture securely for transport or delivery.
- Handle all materials and completed products safely to avoid damage.
- Keep tools, equipment, work areas tidy and organized.
- Report any damaged materials, faulty equipment, or production challenges promptly to supervisors.
- Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Utilize production materials efficiently to minimize waste.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily manufacturing targets.
- Undertake any additional furniture production or workshop responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Preferably possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in furniture production, woodworking, carpentry, or assembly is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of furniture materials, measurement techniques, and assembly methods.
- Competence in safely using hand and power tools.
- Strong practical and manual dexterity skills.
- Ability to interpret simple drawings, measurements, or assembly guidelines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to ensuring product quality.
- Physical capability to stand, bend, lift, and move materials as required in a production environment.
- Comfortable working within a workshop or manufacturing setting.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capacity to meet production goals and perform efficiently.
- Readiness to work shifts or overtime if necessary.
