Full Time Traffic Management Operative

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced and qualified Traffic Management Operatives to join our team in Newport. Whether employed as an Operative, Foreman, or IPV Foreman/Operative, you will be instrumental in maintaining road safety and ensuring the smooth progress of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and dismantle traffic management apparatus such as cones, signs, barriers, and lights.
• Operate IPV vehicles when certified.
• Lead or support a crew to guarantee safe and efficient task execution.
• Set up lane and road closures along with diversion routes.
• Conduct site inspections adhering to Chapter 8 standards.
• Engage effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Perform traffic counts, compile reports, and document near-miss incidents.
• Uphold strict health and safety compliance throughout all operations.
• Mentor and assist trainees and newcomers.
• Support supervisors and managers to meet project deadlines.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must hold relevant certifications such as 12AB, 12b LTMO, or 12a Traffic Management Foreman qualification.
• Comprehensive understanding of Chapter 8 regulations.
• Full driving licence without more than six penalty points; any driving bans must have been lifted for at least five years.
• Ability to pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening; employment offers depend on these results.
• Positive attitude with a proactive and flexible approach.
• IPV qualification and HGV licence are advantageous.
• Meticulous attention to detail and adaptability in various situations.
