Full-Time Store Associate

Role Summary

The Full-Time Store Associate is vital in ensuring an efficient and welcoming store environment by managing stocking, merchandising, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness. Working closely with the ALDI team, the associate helps create an excellent shopping experience for customers.

Working Hours and Compensation

This full-time position entails an average commitment of over 30 hours weekly. Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour with scheduled wage increments: Year 2 - $20.50, Year 3 - $21.00, Year 4 - $21.00, Year 5 - $22.00.

Primary Responsibilities

• Exemplify ALDI’s customer service standards and escalate concerns to management as needed.
• Report any inventory loss due to out-of-date or damaged products to management.
• Utilize the point-of-sale system accurately for scanning and processing purchases, communicating issues promptly.
• Follow cash handling policies and procedures strictly.
• Manage checkout line flow by opening additional lanes when required.
• Stock shelves and displays orderly, aligning with merchandising planograms to enhance sales.
• Fulfill curbside pickup orders by correctly collecting items and delivering them efficiently to customers’ vehicles.
• Maintain store zones and merchandising standards continuously.
• Support store management in achieving operational efficiency and reducing loss.
• Observe all company policies and assist in maintaining a safe and hazard-free workplace.
• Comply with inventory control and product handling procedures.
• Perform cleaning tasks consistent with company guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and walk between store sections.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, and placing merchandise up to 45 pounds at different shelf heights, including overhead.
• Proficient in operating various equipment such as registers, hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Able to work in different temperature zones including freezer and cooler areas.
• Skilled in handling glass and multipurpose cleaning agents safely.

Qualifications and Experience

• Deliver friendly and prompt customer service consistently.
• Operate essential store equipment including cash registers, pallet jacks, and cleaning machines.
• Understand and apply ALDI’s operating policies effectively.
• Communicate clearly both in verbal and written forms.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations accurately.
• Follow detailed instructions and maintain careful attention to detail.
• Work independently and collaboratively as needed.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to optimize productivity within deadlines.
• Maintain punctual attendance and fulfill work schedule commitments.

Education and Eligibility

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• A high school diploma or equivalent certificate is preferred.
• Previous retail work experience is an asset but not mandatory.
