Full-Time Store Associate

Role Overview

As a Store Associate at ALDI, you will contribute to enhancing the customer experience by efficiently merchandising and stocking products, operating cash registers, and maintaining store cleanliness. You will work closely with other team members to ensure the store operates smoothly and offers outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service in line with company standards; escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Notify management of inventory losses due to damaged or outdated merchandise.
• Use the point-of-sale system accurately to process transactions; report any scanning issues to management.
• Comply with cash handling policies and procedures.
• Manage checkout lines by opening additional lanes as needed to optimize customer flow.
• Stock shelves and arrange displays according to merchandising guidelines to drive sales.
• Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving, verifying, and timely delivering customers' purchases.
• Maintain high standards for store zone and merchandising at all times.
• Help management meet operational efficiency and loss prevention objectives.
• Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
• Support a safe work environment by identifying hazards, ensuring ergonomic practices, and keeping equipment in good condition.
• Adhere to inventory and product handling protocols.
• Perform store cleaning tasks to established quality standards.

Physical Demands

• Tasks involve pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving within the store.
• Lift and place products weighing up to 45 pounds at various shelf heights, including overhead.
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in diverse temperature settings including freezers and coolers.
• Use glass and multi-purpose cleaning supplies safely.

Qualifications

• Deliver timely, courteous customer service.
• Operate all store machinery and equipment proficiently (cash registers, floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, etc.).
• Understand and apply ALDI’s operating policies and procedures effectively.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic math operations.
• Follow instructions attentively and maintain focus on details.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with team members.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure productivity within deadlines.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Meet the availability requirements for scheduled shifts.

Education and Experience

• Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting wage of $19.00 per hour with scheduled increases over subsequent years up to $21.00.
• Full-time role averaging over 30 hours per week.
