Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Shop Assistant to contribute to our store operations. This role involves assisting customers, maintaining fresh and inviting product displays, and supporting a welcoming team environment. No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided. Key personal qualities include a friendly disposition, diligence, and a passion for fresh food. Many store managers have started their journey in this role.

Responsibilities

• Replenish and rotate stock regularly to ensure displays are fully stocked, fresh, and attractive
• Maintain organisation, cleanliness, and orderliness of back-of-house areas
• Monitor stock freshness by checking dates and applying FIFO (first in, first out) principles
• Manage shelves to guarantee accurate and convenient product presentation for customers
• Deliver helpful and attentive customer service on the sales floor
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety protocols
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily store operations

Candidate Profile

• A passion for food and ideally experience in fresh food retail environments
• Sharp attention to detail and strong organisational capabilities
• Physically fit to perform manual tasks and remain on feet for extended periods
• Team-oriented attitude paired with a strong work ethic
• Availability to work AM and PM shifts on a flexible 7-day roster
