Job Overview
As a Sales Associate at Pet Valu, you will leverage your knowledge and experience to assist pet owners in selecting proper nutrition and solutions for their pets. Joining a dedicated team of pet enthusiasts, you will help ensure every customer receives excellent service. This role offers opportunities to learn and develop within a top-tier pet retail company.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the cashier and facilitate customer sales transactions
- Prepare merchandise orders and handle banking and other administrative paperwork
- Stock small items under 10 lbs including pet supplies and household products in sales areas
- Maintain store cleanliness through sweeping, dusting, and other upkeep tasks
- Assist unloading delivery vehicles containing cases and bags of pet food and supplies (up to 50 lbs) and restock inventory
- Perform other duties assigned as necessary
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience in retail or customer service is preferred
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills
- Physical ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
- Availability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet attendance needs
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from the store
