Full-Time Night Freight Associate

Key Responsibilities

• Stock merchandise accurately on shelves to maintain full inventory availability.
• Unload and replenish products as directed, ensuring floor organization and cleanliness.
• Merchandise new items and promotional displays effectively to enhance visual appeal.
• Keep aisles tidy and accessible for easy customer navigation and product access.
• Arrange and maintain overhead storage areas, such as striping overhead racks.
• Communicate with team members to ensure proper stocking of all products in designated locations.
• Deliver excellent customer service by greeting, engaging, and thanking customers according to The Home Depot’s customer service model.
• Ask open questions to understand customers’ needs and project specifics when assisting them.
• Operate reach trucks, forklifts, and order picker machines safely to move merchandise between storage and sales floor.
• Pick orders carefully, securely pack products to prevent damage, label accurately, and place orders in correct holding zones.
• Prioritize safety by adhering to all loss prevention and safety protocols while ensuring aisles remain safe and free for customers.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Flexible schedule including overnight shifts, evenings, and weekends.
• Warehouse environment with dust, noise, and occasional gas fumes from forklifts.
• Working in temperatures varying due to frequently open doors.
• Physical tasks include bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 12 to 16 feet to access or stock merchandise.

Qualifications and Preferences

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 to 2 years experience in retail or distribution preferred.
• Experience operating reach trucks, forklifts, and order picker machines considered a valuable asset.

Additional Information

• This position reports to the Freight Team Supervisor.
• No travel is required for this role.
