Role Overview

This position is responsible for implementing receiving and merchandising standards to ensure that Associates process merchandise efficiently as a cohesive team. The role emphasizes creating an exceptional customer experience by engaging customers and upholding store organization and cleanliness while exemplifying outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a positive experience for both internal team members and customers.
  • Foster a culture highlighting honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Manage truck deliveries and prioritize swift merchandising of incoming goods.
  • Train and mentor Associates in merchandising and processing protocols.
  • Ensure proper tagging, hanging, securing, and coding of merchandise.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator on Duty to streamline goods flow to the sales floor.
  • Supervise task completion aligned with store plans; adjust priorities as necessary.
  • Monitor team productivity and provide coaching when needed.
  • Organize and rotate backstock to facilitate easy replenishment.
  • Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards consistently.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organizational standards for the backroom area.
  • Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste management where applicable.
  • Maintain clear communications with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress.
  • Provide and receive recognition and constructive feedback effectively.
  • Work with management to identify Associate training needs and enhance effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and internal procedures.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs to customers.
  • Support store shrink reduction initiatives and programs.
  • Maintain awareness and promotion of safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong communication and organizational aptitude with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic retail environment.
  • Adaptability to changes in direction or unforeseen situations.
  • Collaborative team player engaging well with peers and supervisors.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Experience in training other employees.
  • Minimum of one year retail work experience and six months in a leadership role.

Pay for this position starts between $15.00 and $15.50 hourly and is determined by qualifications and relevant experience.
