Role Overview

As a Keyholder at our Pickering location in Ontario, you will contribute to delivering excellent customer service, assist with store operations, and promote Pet Valu's commitment to pet health and well-being. This role involves sharing responsibility for driving store profitability and representing the store within the community, while prioritizing safety, compassion, expertise, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and assist customers with sales transactions.
• Handle merchandising tasks including preparing orders, banking, and paperwork.
• Stock small items (under 10 pounds) in the store sales area.
• Maintain store cleanliness through sweeping, dusting, and general upkeep.
• Unload deliveries of pet food and supplies (up to 50 pounds) and organize stock.
• Open and close the store following company procedures effectively.
• Assign daily goals and tasks to other team members when management is absent.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support store operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of two years experience in retail or customer service environments.
• Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.
• Dependable transportation to and from work location.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license may be required.
