Role Overview

The Houseperson / Groundskeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the exterior landscaping and outdoor public areas of the resort, ensuring all environments remain pristine, secure, and inviting. This role also supports the housekeeping team by maintaining cleanliness in interior public spaces and handling operational tasks as needed to uphold property standards and enhance guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain outdoor landscaped gardens, lawns, walkways, parking lots, pool areas, and public spaces by performing mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, planting, and watering tasks.
• Clear trash, fallen leaves, branches, and debris daily from all property grounds.
• Conduct safety inspections of exterior areas and promptly report any maintenance issues.
• Monitor and report any irrigation system malfunctions.
• Ensure outdoor furniture, signage, and guest-facing exterior features are clean and orderly.
• Assist with preparation and cleanup efforts before and after storms.
• Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and maintain them according to safety guidelines.
• Clean and sustain hygiene standards in public restrooms, hallways, stairways, elevators, and back-of-house spaces.
• Empty trash receptacles, remove soiled linens, restock supplies, and help organize housekeeping inventory.
• Move furniture and participate in special cleaning assignments.
• Respond politely and helpfully to guest inquiries and requests.
• Adhere to all hotel safety measures and emergency procedures.
• Immediately report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or maintenance concerns.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, housekeeping, or general maintenance preferred.
• Capability to work outdoors under various weather conditions including heat and humidity.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds, and sustain standing, walking, bending, and labor-intensive tasks for long durations.
• Basic familiarity with landscaping tools and safety practices is preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
