Responsibilities

• Offer excellent customer service by addressing member inquiries and recommending deli products.
• Slicing, packaging, weighing, and selling deli products such as meats and cheeses.
• Assist customers in selecting appropriate items and prepare special orders including party trays.
• Receive, inspect, and properly stock deli shipments ensuring freshness and compliance with food safety standards.
• Maintain deli displays, cases, and cooler shelves clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Operate deli equipment safely and clean/sanitize equipment and food surfaces regularly.
• Ensure scale systems function correctly with accurate weighing and pricing.
• Adhere to all club policies and procedures and perform other duties or assist other departments as assigned.
• Consistently uphold high attendance standards.

Business Knowledge and Standards

• Understand and interpret production and financial performance reports related to the deli department.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a deli department is preferred.
• Familiarity using manual or powered slicers and scales is beneficial.
• Knowledge of deli products is advantageous.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Working Conditions

• Job entails frequent movement on hard surfaces and occasional bending, stooping, reaching, or pulling to inspect merchandise.
• Frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds and occasional assisted lifting of heavier objects.
• Work occurs indoors with exposure to temperature extremes such as freezers and ovens, and occasional contact with cleaning agents.

Compensation

Estimated salary range is $16.75 to $20.53 per hour, with actual pay varying based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
