Full-Time Cleaner

Position Overview

The Full-Time Cleaner plays a vital role in ensuring a spotless, secure, and sanitary atmosphere by delivering comprehensive janitorial services at designated sites. The incumbent is expected to fulfill all cleaning obligations aligning with company protocols and safety regulations while fostering a professional workplace.

Primary Duties

• Execute routine cleaning and sanitizing of various areas including floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and shared spaces.
• Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
• Disinfect frequently touched surfaces per company standards.
• Restock restroom and facility supplies as necessary.
• Adhere to assigned cleaning schedules and complete tasks efficiently.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged tools, or safety risks to supervision.

Safety and Compliance

• Observe all corporate safety directives and procedures.
• Properly manage, store, and utilize cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Keep emergency exits, eyewash stations, and pathways unobstructed.
• Operate cleaning machinery safely and report malfunctions promptly.
• Consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Equipment and Facility Maintenance

• Clean and maintain cleaning devices following each shift.
• Drain, clean, and charge equipment as necessary.
• Return tools, wet floor signs, mop buckets, brooms, and supplies to their designated storage locations.
• Safely return propane tanks to assigned storage cages when applicable.
• Maintain janitorial closets neat, organized, and fully stocked.

Communication and Reporting

• Inform supervisors about shortages of supplies, equipment problems, accidents, or facility concerns.
• Accurately complete assigned checklists and documents.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members concerning daily duties and operational matters.
• Participate in walkthroughs with store management if requested.

Performance Indicators

• Timely and precise completion of assigned cleaning tasks.
• Work areas consistently comply with cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Proper cleaning, maintenance, and storage of equipment.
• Janitorial closets remain tidy and orderly.
• Strict adherence to safety procedures.
• Accurate completion of cleaning documentation.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality work.
• Dependable and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Availability to work night shifts and travel to various assigned sites.
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is an added benefit.

Physical Requirements and Environment

• Constant standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching throughout shifts.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Operate cleaning machinery like floor scrubbers, buffers, and pallet jacks safely.
• Regular mobile phone usage for communication and job tasks.
• Sufficient hearing and vision capacity to safely complete job responsibilities.
• Work environments include warehouses, retail stores, grocery outlets, or distribution centers.
• Willingness to adjust to varying shifts based on business demands.
