About the Role
The Sun Hotel in Townsville seeks an experienced and skilled Chef to join their vibrant and supportive kitchen team. Working in a lively and fast-paced setting, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with a dedicated Head Chef and energetic colleagues who foster a family-like atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned kitchen sections efficiently and maintain consistently high-quality food preparation during service.
- Prepare modern and innovative dishes across multiple cuisines and styles, maintaining excellent taste and presentation standards.
- Adhere to food hygiene regulations and best practices to ensure safety and compliance in the kitchen.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers, both verbally and in writing.
- Participate actively in a rotating work schedule covering a 7-day operation, including weekends.
Candidate Requirements
- At least three years of experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent trade experience.
- Commitment to working five days per week within a 38-hour schedule, across a seven-day roster.
- Strong personal grooming and pride in professional presentation.
- Display a flexible, positive attitude combined with clear communication and excellent customer service skills.
Working Conditions
- Approximate weekly hours: 38, with shifts distributed throughout Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster.
