Role Overview
We seek a skilled and approachable Barista / Bar Staff member to join our Front of House team. This position prioritizes coffee expertise, requiring strong barista abilities and a passion for crafting quality coffee. Additionally, responsibilities include serving an array of drinks such as wine, cocktails, and other beverages to provide a comprehensive premium drink experience for patrons.
Working Hours and Schedule
Operating hours are from 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday, extending to late hours on weekends (Saturday and Sunday from 9am to late). Shift schedules will vary between daytime and evening hours, requiring flexibility. This timetable offers a healthier balance between work and personal life compared to typical hospitality roles.
Primary Duties
- Craft and serve superior coffee and hot drinks according to company standards
- Operate, clean, and maintain coffee machines and grinders
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, and cocktails
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations focused on coffee selections
- Keep the bar and coffee station clean, organized, and well stocked
- Accurately take orders and process payments using the EPOS system
- Deliver courteous, professional, and efficient customer service
- Address customer inquiries and handle complaints in a calm and professional manner
- Comply with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations
- Assist the Front of House team with setup and closing tasks
Required Experience and Qualifications
- At least one year of experience as a barista or bar staff member
- Strong expertise in coffee preparation and familiarity with related equipment
- Desirable knowledge of wine and cocktail service
- Confidence in using bar tools and coffee machines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain composed and multitask in busy environments
- Dependable, punctual, and adaptable for varied shifts including evenings and weekends
- Willingness to follow company policies and assist with diverse duties
- Possession of a valid work permit or visa
