Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Bakery Clerk is responsible for recommending products and assisting customers with special order inquiries. This role includes restocking display cases ensuring ample variety and quality bakery items, as well as adhering to all food safety and sanitation protocols. Routine cleaning of bakery areas and equipment is also required.

• Welcome and engage with customers warmly
• Maintain an approachable and friendly demeanor through positive body language and eye contact
• Effectively answer customer questions and provide product recommendations
• Stock bakery products and arrange displays in line with merchandising guidelines
• Carry out routine cleaning and upkeep within the bakery department
• Follow safety and sanitation standards to guarantee product quality
• Properly package, label, date, and handle baked goods
• Separate baked items fresh from the oven as needed
• Fill customer orders on the sales floor
• Other duties including cake decorating or baking when fully trained and authorized

Compensation and Benefits

The expected hourly wage ranges from $15.00 to $20.10, determined by factors including location, candidate skills, relevant experience, and education or training.
