Role Summary
The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in managing theatre operations, ensuring that company policies and operational standards are strictly followed. Cross-trained across all departments, this role supports various functions and provides motivating training to team members. Advancement opportunities include progressing to Senior Assistant Manager and eventually to Theatre or General Manager after completing the Management Accreditation Program and gaining at least six months of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute directives issued by the General Manager and back up their decisions in communications with staff
- Engage in all theatre departments, mastering job functions and operations
- Deliver targeted training and coaching to team members in their respective roles
- Assist in preparing administrative and special reports for management review
- Inspect theatre premises including the building, parking lot, landscaping, property, signage, roof, and equipment condition, reporting any repair needs
- Ensure adherence to dress codes by all team members
- Enhance guest experiences by fostering superior customer service and directly interacting with patrons
- Adopt and enforce company policies fairly and consistently among team members
- Report employee relations matters following established protocols, including use of designated reporting platforms when General Manager is absent
- Maintain professional conduct and uphold high standards of work ethic
- Implement thorough sanitation practices on high-contact areas for both employees and guests
- Use personal protective equipment appropriately during job-specific tasks
- Adapt cleaning routines to meet the demands of frequency and scope
- Address safety and security concerns such as hazards, inadequate lighting, or suspicious activity promptly
- Carry out additional duties as assigned to support theatre operations
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of three foundational courses within the Cinemark Management Accreditation Program: Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core
- Successful completion of basic food handling training alongside any legally required certification or permits related to health and food safety
- Safe Alcohol Service training mandatory for management staff involved with alcohol service
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Dependable and consistent attendance required
- Maintain a positive and energetic demeanor throughout shifts
- Exemplary guest service skills
- Proficient in accurate cash handling and basic mathematical calculations
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively in English
- Capable of working successfully both within a team and independently
- Willingness and ability to follow instructions and directions
- Responsive with a sense of urgency to operational needs and issues
- Excellent at managing time, organizing tasks, and paying attention to detail
- Competent at training and leading other employees
- Skilled in resolving conflicts as they arise
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Frequent activities including bending, kneeling, and lifting items up to 50 lbs.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and reaching within the theatre environment
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels at certain times
- Ability to remain standing for long durations
