Role Overview

The Full Stack Software Engineer will contribute to the Smartly Payroll System, a SaaS product supporting thousands of clients with their payroll requirements. Candidates should possess at least two years of hands-on experience in both front-end and back-end development, demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, produce clean and maintainable code, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily responsibilities including clarifying feature ambiguity, task management, release support, and production validation.
• Collaborate in team delivery by providing reliable effort estimates, identifying risks early, communicating clearly, and ensuring predictable outcomes.
• Maintain code quality through testing, active participation in code reviews, adherence to safe change protocols, and focusing on correctness, maintainability, security, and performance.
• Employ modern tools, automation, and AI-assisted techniques prudently to enhance development efficiency and code quality while retaining accountability.
• Mentor less experienced engineers through constructive feedback and collaborative practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IT project experience spanning multiple software development lifecycle phases.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in C# .NET development.
• Proficiency with front-end technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, React, or ASP.NET Razor.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, SOLID principles, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of service-oriented architecture frameworks.
• Capability to develop features, write unit tests, and resolve complex bugs effectively.
• Excellent communication skills aimed at fostering productive and cohesive teams.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills for problem-solving.
• Exposure to public cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is advantageous.
