About Hayah Health

Hayah Health is a preventive healthcare platform dedicated to women's health in Qatar, operating at the interface between labs and clinics. It focuses on personalizing and following up on metabolic and hormonal health during the crucial years between laboratory testing and clinical treatment.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Perform a technical audit immediately, evaluating security policies, data model integrity, error handling, and edge cases to ensure robustness when scaling to real users with sensitive health data.
• From November onwards, contribute to finalizing and expanding the product including admin console features, member profiles, protocol interfaces, check-in mechanisms, and integrating an assistant powered by the Claude API.
• Looking ahead to 2027, potential involvement in automating lab PDF data extraction, protocol generation, developing a native mobile application, and implementing payment systems.

Work Environment

This project is a rapid and intimate development effort with real health data and a firm deadline, requiring the developer to work on-site in Doha at QSTP alongside team members to facilitate live user testing.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Resident in Doha.
• Strong expertise in React and TypeScript.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL and Supabase, especially with implementing row-level security — a critical component given the sensitive data handled.
• Experience in deploying and maintaining production-grade applications rather than just prototypes.
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly to a non-technical founder and provide candid advice.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with Arabic or right-to-left (RTL) internationalization.
• Background with healthcare or similarly regulated sensitive data, with a clear understanding of the necessity of privacy from the start.
• Comfort with maintaining and advancing a codebase developed with AI assistance without immediately resorting to rebuilding it.

Ideal Candidate Disposition

Seeks to enhance and improve existing code rather than replacing it from scratch, respecting the current architecture and documented design decisions to preserve project timelines.

Engagement and Terms

• Initially freelance or contract engagement.
• Possibility of evolving into a founding technical role depending on fit.
• Work location is on-site in Doha.
• Fluent English required; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
