Training and Career Growth

New entrants can start as Pharmacy Technician-in-Training by enrolling in our Board of Pharmacy-approved training program. This allows for part-time or full-time work in the pharmacy while learning essential skills through comprehensive online modules, internal video lessons, and practical hands-on training with a mentor—all provided free of charge. Existing Pharmacy Technicians have numerous opportunities to advance, including certifications for immunizations and long-term care pharmacy specialties.

Compensation

• Technician-in-Training: $14.85 - $20.00 per hour
• Registered Technician: $15.85 - $24.00 per hour
• Certified Technician: $16.35 - $25.50 per hour

Key Duties

• Deliver outstanding customer service that fosters loyalty and repeat patronage.
• Promote pharmacy programs such as Ready Refill, Medication Synchronization, and HealthyPackRx, assisting patients with enrollment.
• Provide support to Pharmacists in clinical service offerings.
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications under pharmacist supervision to ensure precise prescription fulfillment.
• Enter prescriptions into computer systems for accurate insurance processing and communication.

Applicant Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Possess a high school diploma or a GED equivalent.

Physical Demands

This position requires prolonged periods of standing. Frequent abilities needed include talking, hearing, manual dexterity, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 40 pounds is required. Vision abilities necessary include close, distance, peripheral vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
