Job description
Overview
The Front Desk Manager supports the Front Office Manager by overseeing daily front office operations and supervising the front desk staff, bell/door personnel, switchboard, and guest services. This role ensures smooth check-in and check-out processes while maximizing guest satisfaction and departmental financial performance.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
Applicants should have either a high school diploma or GED accompanied by minimum two years of experience in guest services, front desk, or a related area, or a two-year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field with no prior work experience required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily front office operations to uphold quality standards and fulfill customer expectations consistently.
- Set and execute goals, prioritizing and organizing tasks efficiently.
- Address and resolve guest complaints, disputes, and conflicts professionally.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial goals.
- Facilitate regular communication with employees to align on business objectives, recognize performance, and achieve desired outcomes.
- Lead, inspire, and coach employees with integrity, fostering mutual respect and cooperation within the team.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and stepping in to perform staff duties as needed.
- Oversee all front office areas in the absence of the Front Office or Assistant Manager.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by understanding and meeting guest needs, providing individual coaching, and empowering staff.
- Monitor employee service behaviors and provide constructive feedback.
- Solicit guest feedback on products and service quality to ensure continuous improvement.
- Implement recognition and service programs to enhance customer experience.
- Train staff on credit policies, supervise revenue-maximizing procedures, and ensure adherence to operational standards and policies.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and onboarding programs.
- Assist in hiring, orientation, and employee disciplinary processes following company standards.
- Maintain prompt and effective communication within the team and with other departments.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, conveying clear messages to achieve front desk goals.
