Freight Forwarder

Position Overview

Join DSV's expanding logistics network as a Freight Forwarder in Shannon, Ireland. This part-time onsite role operates Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, covering 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will oversee international shipments using air, sea, and road transport, ensuring seamless visibility and communication throughout the supply chain to provide outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the coordination of shipments from initial booking through to final delivery stages.
• Maintain end-to-end transparency of shipments across suppliers, carriers, and logistics partners.
• Adhere to service agreements, KPIs, Standard Operating Procedures, revenue goals, and cost structures.
• Monitor shipment progress actively, providing timely updates to customers and involved parties.
• Identify and address potential disruptions proactively to avoid impacts on customer operations.
• Facilitate collaborative communication among all stakeholders during the transport journey.
• Ensure precise and timely completion of all necessary operational documentation and administrative processes.
• Utilize freight management systems, booking tools, and tracking platforms to efficiently manage shipments.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements aligned with departmental and company objectives.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, carriers, suppliers, and international teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven freight forwarding experience within Ireland with solid knowledge of air, ocean, and road freight operations.
• Experience handling international shipments and proficient use of freight management software and tracking tools.
• Good understanding of freight pricing, carrier services, and supply chain dynamics.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and customer service skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Completion of IAA Aviation Security training and compliance with industry standards.
• Goal-oriented, flexible, and dedicated to providing high-quality service.

• Experience with import and export freight forwarding activities.

• Familiarity with logistics and distribution industries.
• Hands-on experience with operational KPI analysis and performance monitoring.
