Overview

The FP&A Analyst role involves supporting financial planning, performance analysis, and management reporting for Perigus Energy's renewable energy portfolio. Collaborating closely with Finance and operational teams, the analyst will translate financial and operational data into actionable insights, maintain detailed forecasts and financial models, and assist management in informed decision making. This position offers an excellent chance for an analytical finance professional to gain diverse commercial experience within an expanding international renewables firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-term planning processes across the group and its project entities.
  • Prepare monthly management reports featuring variance analysis, performance commentary, and clear elucidation of major business drivers.
  • Develop and enhance integrated financial models, cash flow forecasts, and scenario analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with project, commercial, asset management, and corporate divisions to collect input data, assess assumptions, and improve forecast precision.
  • Track financial and operational KPIs for development, construction, and operational stages of renewable energy assets.
  • Contribute to liquidity management, funding analysis, and performance reporting at project and portfolio levels.
  • Create concise analytical reports and presentation documents for senior leadership, boards, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of investment proposals, business cases, as well as ad hoc commercial and strategic analyses.
  • Enhance reporting workflows, implement controls, improve data integrity, and promote effective use of financial systems and business intelligence solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in FP&A, management accounting, commercial finance, audit, transaction services, or financial analysis; experience in energy, infrastructure, or project-based sectors is an advantage.
  • Strong skills in financial modelling and analytics, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Capability to interpret complex data sets, pinpoint critical factors, and effectively communicate insights to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Meticulous attention to detail coupled with a robust control mindset and the capacity to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
  • A proactive, cooperative, and commercially aware attitude, with confidence to challenge assumptions in a constructive manner.
  • Possession of a professional accountancy qualification, progress towards one, or comparable experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, ERP platforms, or other reporting and data visualization tools is desirable.
