Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay for newly hired Foundry Clean-Up workers is $23.73 per hour, along with shift differential. Employees are entitled to ten paid holidays annually and vacation accrues as five paid days after six months of continuous employment.

Probationary Period

All new hourly employees must achieve satisfactory attendance and performance standards during a mandatory 480-hour probation to confirm employment requirements are met.

Job Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to Tyler Union's Safety Management Program and notify management of any deviations.
• Operate equipment such as sweepers, vacuum trucks, and skid steers to maintain cleanliness.
• Inspect machinery and equipment for cleanliness standards compliance.
• Monitor equipment operation to detect and report malfunctions.
• Use portable vacuum devices to clean areas including shakers and conveyors thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness of sand mixers throughout the facility.
• Assist production staff by handling materials, tools, or maintaining work areas and equipment.
• Record operational data including production counts and meter readings.
• Perform cleanup tasks in confined spaces, including hole watch duties.
• Carry out any additional cleaning tasks assigned by maintenance management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Between one and three years of comparable on-the-job experience required.
• Experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing settings is desirable.
• Lockout tagout training experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of production and mechanical processes.
• Skills include operations monitoring, reading comprehension, active listening, complex problem-solving, critical thinking, and operational control.
• Physical capabilities such as trunk strength, manual dexterity, near vision, and ability to work with tools and equipment safely.
• Work involves frequent lifting (up to 40-50 pounds), bending, pushing, pulling, ability to operate vibrating tools, standing, walking, and working in various environmental conditions including high heat and humidity.
• Mandatory use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
