Job description
About Multiplier
Multiplier Holdings is a venture capital-backed startup that specializes in acquiring and scaling professional services firms by integrating AI and automation. The company focuses on regulated and complex sectors such as tax and corporate accounting, where automation addresses challenging workflows and talent shortages. Unlike traditional software vendors, Multiplier blends technology development with service delivery through in-house AI and workflow components customized for each firm to enhance efficiency and improve the experience for clients and staff.
About Our Product Pods
Engineering teams at Multiplier are structured into small, vertically-oriented "pods" — cross-functional groups embedded within specific business domains like tax, corporate accounting, or firm operations. These pods take full ownership over their product areas, from the users to the underlying infrastructure. They operate with agility, setting their own priorities and shipping solutions rapidly based on direct feedback from clients and staff.
Role Overview
The Founding Product Engineer owns end-to-end problem resolution by engaging directly with users to identify needs, define priorities, and execute development. This hybrid role encompasses discovery, product roadmap management, system design, and complete full-stack development. Responsibilities include running user interviews, scoping deliverables, creating technical designs, and independently shipping initial versions within short time frames, often weekly. You will frequently pioneer new problem spaces and bear full accountability for your product roadmap segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery sessions directly with operators, accountants, and firm personnel to understand user needs.
- Translate insights into clear objectives, prioritized roadmaps, and make build/no-build and sequencing decisions.
- Present early prototypes to users for feedback and iteratively refine solutions.
- Design and implement AI-driven systems utilizing LLM agents, including complex multi-agent orchestration to automate nuanced, judgment-focused tasks.
- Develop pipelines for data extraction and reconciliation to convert unstructured documents into accurate, structured, and reviewable data.
- Integrate human-in-the-loop review and multi-layer verification to ensure absolute correctness of outputs.
- Own end-to-end full-stack product surfaces including backend APIs, data models, and React-based frontend interfaces.
- Create configurable templates, dynamic questionnaires, conditional logic flows, and document workflow systems.
- Manage data migrations, seeding, and infrastructure tasks essential for safe and reliable deployment.
- Author detailed technical design documents that also serve as product documentation, covering architecture, rationale, trade-offs, and scope exclusions.
- Use documentation to synchronize and align stakeholders including other pods, design teams, and domain experts around a development path.
- Collaborate closely with the Pod Lead to represent and integrate product area plans into the broader company roadmap.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses over 8 years of software development experience, preferably including founding or early-stage startup involvement.
- Exhibits a founder mentality by proactively identifying problems and independently driving solutions without waiting for detailed specifications.
- Demonstrated capability to own outcomes from vague problems through to delivered, prioritized software products, backed by a portfolio of successful products.
- Highly resourceful and pragmatic, willing to ship practical interim solutions rather than delaying for ideal scenarios.
- Proficient full-stack developer comfortable across backend systems, API design, data modeling, frontend UI, and production troubleshooting.
- Experienced with production-level applied AI, particularly using large language model (LLM) agents with attention to orchestration, multi-tool integration, and human-in-the-loop processes.
- Effective in working directly with non-technical domain experts and customers to convert real-world workflows into software requirements.
- Excellent technical communication skills, including clear design documentation, plain explanation of trade-offs, and consensus building among engineering and domain teams.
Role Clarifications
- This position is not about executing predefined tickets; instead, it involves defining what is built.
- It is not an exclusively research-focused AI role; the emphasis is on shipping dependable systems integrated into actual workflows.
- It does not focus solely on internal platform or infrastructure work; success is measured by tangible customer impact.
Work Conditions & Location
The position is full-time based in Singapore. Candidates must already reside in or be eligible to work in Singapore, as relocation assistance is not provided.
Why Join Multiplier
You will lead a small startup-like team within a larger organization at the crossroads of financial data and AI, where exactness is critical. This early-stage role offers the chance to shape both product direction and foundational technology while receiving direct feedback on the trust users place in your solutions. It provides significant ownership of product outcomes from concept through deployment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Attractive salary complemented by performance bonuses and equity participation.
- Unlimited paid leave to recharge.
- Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
