Job description
About the Role
Azonic is seeking a founding engineer located in Auckland to help build an innovative platform aimed at scaling criminal investigations. As one of the initial engineers, you will take full ownership of the platform's architecture, influencing how the system adapts as agency work is integrated.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the agent infrastructure that enables concurrent investigations and serves as the daily workspace for analysts.
- Construct robust data pipelines that aggregate investigative sources into a single platform, designed to handle substantial loads.
- Manage deployment processes into secure environments, transitioning from Azonic's cloud to agency-specific systems.
- Ensure investigation reliability through observability, recovery strategies, and performance optimization to support long-duration cases.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Practical experience running agent or large language model systems in production, with an understanding of potential failure points.
- A strong delivery mindset prioritizing timely and functional releases over perfect but delayed solutions.
- Experience related to intelligence, investigative work, or trust and safety domains is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Information
Azonic operates in the intelligence sector where confidentiality is critical. Discretion is mandatory, with security best practices embedded in daily activities. The work involves exposure to sensitive and challenging online content. The engineering team is small and early-stage, requiring quick, high-quality decision-making with personal accountability.
