About 1zu100 and Role Overview

1zu100 is revolutionizing construction planning by automating the process for multi-unit residential buildings through partnerships with outstanding architecture firms. We deliver fully completed and permitted building plans as a service. We seek a highly skilled architect with at least five years of experience in German multi-unit residential construction (Geschosswohnungsbau) who is eager to innovate the traditional architectural workflow by leveraging AI-assisted design validation and planning.

Responsibilities

• Validate AI-generated architectural plans on actual projects ensuring all designs are structurally sound and justified; identify and correct any issues as the final quality assessor.
• Present architectural outcomes to clients, partner architects, and developers; articulate reasoning behind design decisions and confidently defend them under scrutiny.
• Manage architectural projects across all key phases including Entwurf (design), Bauantrag (building application), and Ausführungsplanung (execution planning) working closely with founders and partner offices.
• Define and develop the distinctive architectural style and workflow of 1zu100, establishing methodologies from scratch.
• Convert principles of effective residential architecture such as spatial ratios, grid systems, heuristics, and code compliance into actionable criteria for the engineering team.
• Critically assess AI model outputs and support the creation of quality standards by which architectural results are evaluated.
• Collaborate daily with founders and engineers in a continuous feedback loop, ensuring rapid resolution of design tool alerts and improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of an architecture degree.
• Minimum of five years of experience specifically in multi-unit residential building design in Germany.
• Proficient German language skills at B2 level or above.
• Demonstrated high initiative and entrepreneurial mindset; recognition of the extensive routine workload in architecture and a strong belief in AI’s transformative potential for the field.
• Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, Bauvorlageberechtigung (license to submit building plans), familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM), experience with scripting or AI tools, and a diverse, non-linear career background.
