Founding AI/ML Tech Lead

About the Role

Join an early-stage AI technology company focused on delivering innovative artificial intelligence solutions for enterprise clients across India, the UK, Europe, and the Americas. As the Founding AI/ML Tech Lead, you will be instrumental in defining the company's technical vision, steering product development, and assembling the initial AI engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and architect the company's AI strategy and technical frameworks to deliver enterprise AI products.
• Assess emerging AI technologies, foundation and large language models, open-source platforms, and select them based on cost, performance, and security criteria.
• Design scalable AI and machine learning architectures tailored for enterprise applications including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, workflow automation, and document intelligence.
• Lead research, prototyping, and the creation of MVPs, converting business challenges into technical AI solutions.
• Drive development of proprietary AI algorithms, workflows, and reusable components, while constantly scouting for intellectual property opportunities.
• Mentor and lead a small AI/ML and software engineering team, establishing coding standards, documentation, testing, CI/CD practices, and engineering methodologies.
• Architect integrations between AI solutions and enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and databases, ensuring security, compliance, and data privacy from the outset.
• Engage with prospective clients to translate business needs into AI technical solutions, support technical discovery, and showcase prototypes.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years in software or AI/ML engineering, with strong Python programming capabilities.
• Solid experience working with modern generative AI, large language models (LLMs), vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and LLM orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, production-grade application deployment, and API design.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and software testing.
• Ability to independently research and implement new technologies into commercial AI products.
• Desirable: Experience integrating AI with enterprise systems like SAP, Oracle, Salesforce; domain expertise in finance, procurement, supply chain, or ERP; knowledge of document AI, AI governance, Kubernetes, Docker, and production rollout of AI prototypes.

Technical Environment

Technologies you will engage with include Python, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript; AI frameworks such as LangChain or equivalent; data platforms like PostgreSQL and vector databases; cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP); and DevOps tools including Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
