Position Overview

As a Forward Deployed AI Scientist at BCG X, you will own the complete analytics lifecycle: identifying and framing business problems, designing advanced algorithms, building scalable implementations, and assisting clients and colleagues in adopting AI solutions. The role involves partnering with clients across multiple BCG regions and industries, including addressing crucial issues like climate change, to create and deploy cutting-edge AI innovations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with clients to understand complex business challenges and deliver data-driven AI solutions.
• Develop innovative algorithms and software capable of deployment at scale across industries and applications.
• Lead or contribute to the creation of thought leadership through presentations, publications, and conference engagements representing BCG X.
• Facilitate clear communication of complex data science concepts and results to diverse stakeholders using intuitive visualizations and explanations.

Candidate Profile

We seek highly motivated individuals passionate about data science, statistics, and operations research with a vision to transform organizations into AI-driven enterprises. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Comfort and ambition in client-facing roles with leadership potential.
• Ability to simplify complex analytical outcomes into accessible, clear visuals.
• Strong communication skills to explain sophisticated data science topics understandably.
• Proficiency in collaborative coding and use of modern development tools; software development or DevOps experience is advantageous.
• Proven track record applying advanced analytics to diverse business scenarios and synthesizing intricate data patterns.
• Deep knowledge of modern machine learning methodologies and their mathematical foundations, with capability to connect these insights to practical business outcomes.
• Effective project management skills and the ability to thrive in diverse, collaborative team environments.
• Excellent verbal and written proficiency in German and English at C1 or C2 level.
• Academic qualifications including a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in a relevant field, with all degree certificates provided.

Technical Focus

Programming languages primarily include Python.
