Foodservice Worker

About the Role

Join our team as a Foodservice Worker where you will contribute to creating a positive dining atmosphere by preparing and serving meals to students and staff. This full-time position in Baton Rouge, LA involves supporting smooth cafeteria operations through safe food handling and excellent teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food following established recipes, production guidelines, and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and serving environment, ensuring proper sanitation.
• Stock and organize serving areas including lines, salad bars, and milk coolers.
• Adhere to food storage, rotation, and handling procedures to ensure quality and safety.
• Provide courteous meal service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Help receive deliveries and manage inventory storage efficiently.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
• Comply with all applicable health regulations at the local, state, federal, and organizational levels.
• Support team members by assisting or covering shifts as needed.
• Complete reports and deadlines as assigned to support operational needs.
• Carry out additional duties to support the kitchen and school meal program as required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service or cleaning is preferred.
• Strong dedication to work and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and adhering to structured routines.
• Basic proficiency in math and computer applications.
• Ability to pass background and fingerprint screenings.
• Relies on dependable transportation for commute.
• Enjoys working around children and values community involvement.
• Exhibits respectful, inclusive, and professional behavior towards coworkers and clients.
• Physical capability to stand for full shifts and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Perform routine motions including bending, reaching, and walking in a moderately noisy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to work Monday through Friday full-time hours, with occasional extended weeks, and participate in company events or meetings as needed.
