Food Runner

Overview

The Food Runner plays a vital role in restaurant operations by promptly and accurately transporting food from the kitchen to diners, ensuring excellent presentation and high-quality customer service. This position serves as a key liaison between kitchen and front-of-house teams to guarantee a smooth dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport food orders to customers quickly and professionally.
• Check that dishes are properly presented before serving.
• Confirm accuracy of food items, table assignments, and special instructions prior to delivery.
• Support waitstaff during busy service times.
• Maintain clear communication with the kitchen and service personnel.
• Clear tables by removing used plates, utensils, and glassware as needed.
• Keep service stations and dining areas organized and clean.
• Assist with table setup and restaurant preparation before service periods.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
• Respond swiftly to guest needs and provide courteous service.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is advantageous.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced workplace.
• Strong multitasking skills with close attention to detail.
• Physically able to stand lengthy shifts and carry trays.
