About Dishoom
Dishoom is celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere and dedication to its team and guests since 2010, recreating the spirit of Bombay’s Irani cafes. With locations across London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, plus Permit Rooms in Brighton, Cambridge and Oxford, and a new Bar-Cafe in Portobello, Dishoom also operates kitchens to deliver food to customers' homes.
Dishoom is deeply invested in community and sustainability efforts, engaging staff in initiatives such as tree planting in the UK and India, cultural events, and their Meal for a Meal campaign which has donated over 20 million meals since January 2024.
Role Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and helpful Food Runners to join our busy and vibrant teams. Food Runners are crucial in providing excellent guest experiences by efficiently delivering food and beverages, handling special requests with care, and supporting the smooth operation of shifts while working in fast-paced environments.

Working Conditions
- Full-time position across five days per week; availability required from Monday to Sunday.
- Work shifts vary between daytime and evenings; no standard late-night only shifts.
- A weekly rota issued at least six days in advance.
- Free meals and unlimited chai on shift.
- Competitive pay of £15-16 per hour inclusive of tronc, paid monthly.
- Holiday entitlement aligned with industry standards, with sites closed on Christmas and Boxing Day and an extra day off for parents taking children to their first day at school.
- Dress code is smart casual with comfortable shoes; no uniform required.
Responsibilities
- Carry large trays of food and drinks to guests, attentively managing special requirements such as allergies.
- Maintain readiness by ensuring all items needed for smooth operations are available during shifts.
- Operate efficiently in a large, energized workplace, often accumulating over 20,000 steps per shift.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in any role preferred, with at least six months of work experience; hospitality experience not mandatory.
- Eagerness to learn about food, beverage service, and delivering excellent guest and teammate care.
- Curiosity, energy, helpfulness, and dedication to teamwork.
- Commitment to contributing positively within an inclusive and diverse work environment.
